JUNIORS DOMINATE ABE YANOFSKY MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT

Super junior Trevor Vincent capped off a fine year of chess with a win in the last round against fellow junior Weixi Lui to win the signature chess event in Manitoba. Combined with his win in the Manitoba championship in May and his achieving a master rating along the way , Trevor has got to be considered as the leading candidate for player of the year honors . Of note too ;is junior Aaron Green tying for first place in the U1800 section after a fine performance in the tournament. Congratulations to all the participants ( young and young at heart ) on a fine tournament . note 54 chess players took part ages ranged from 9 to 80 .total prize fund was $4000.
