MANITOBA JUNIOR CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP GOES THIS WEEKEND (Nov 14th + 15th)

The premier junior chess event of the year goes this WEEKEND : NOVEMBER 14th + 15th . Past winners include many players who went on to become the very best players in the Province . Names like Trevor Vincent , Irwin and Sam Lipnowski , Kevin Gentes , Jeff Babb , Rehan Huda ( who also represented Canada at the World Juniors in Columbia ! ) , and Joshua Henson.

** This is your chance to play for the Junior Championship of Manitoba too .**

The tournament will be two sections an OPEN section( two day event open to all Manitoba residents under 20 as of 31/12 09 ) and a RESERVE section( one day event on SAT the 14th ; which is open to all Manitoba Residents less than 20 years of age with a Chess and Math rating of less than 1000) .

Cost : OPEN SECTION $ 15 ( CFC membership required $ 15 / year )
RESERVE SECTION $ 5 ( no CFC membership required )

ROUNDS : Open 4 rounds 10:00 and 2:30 Sat + Sun Game/ 120 mins

Reserve 5 rounds **ONE DAY EVENT** SATURDAY ONLY

Winner of the Open will be eligible to represent Manitoba at the Canadian Junior Chess Championships in 2010 and hopefully the World Junior Chess Championships in 2010 ! Transportation and entry fee to National Championships paid by MCA .

All entries to both sections will receive a prize including the OLE HELLSTEN AWARD to the CHAMPION
